Últimamente me he dedicado a simplemente guardar silencio.

Continue Reading »

OK… so recently I’ve felt like this old “I love Lucy” show. Life is good. Family is good. Work is good for now. Actually, let me go back to work. Let’s talk about that. Hum, it just happens that lately it has been crazy. It feels like we’ve been rolling for the past couple of years and we haven’t stopped. How is that? The rolling part should be good, right? Well, it is good if I say that perhaps I have job security. It is good because I stay busy and I get paid every two weeks – as you know, it’s nice to have some money in the bank. However, it is so busy that I can’t stop to take a break as often as I would like to evaluate whether my efforts are paying off or not. Continue Reading »

Last Saturday the cleaning lady showed up for work. Her name is Olga and she is from Bulgaria. Olga is going to come every other week to clean and every eight weeks to deep clean the house. Why did I hire someone? Well, I can’t keep up with a bigger house and more demands. Anyway…
We had agreed that she would take care of the deep cleaning while I would clean my kitchen, the bathrooms, bedrooms, the usual, etc… We both worked really hard. She never took a break. This was actually the first time I hired someone to do this for me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The help was wonderful…

Yes, it’s been a while since my last blog and I’m sorry. Life happens every day. I am making an effort to get better at this and blog more often. Actually, I am learning to simplify my life. That is a blog on its own, but I am trying to spend more time doing what I like, instead of being busy all the time. So cheers to that!
Have tons of things to share with you soon. From work to my recent trip to Panama – stay tuned…
Love,
Claudia

OK – I will be short but here is my thought of the day:
“Whatever you do, wherever you go… live a life of excellence! Don’t settle for less.”
There… that will take you a long way!
Hasta la próxima.

After being in our new home for a few months, I finally took the time to look around in every room of the house to get a feel for the décor I have, and what I need. Following a thorough check, I realized that I had moved into a much bigger home with not as much stuff as in our previous one. You see, while packing for the move, I got rid of collectibles and junk that we had accumulated throughout the years. I decided that I didn’t need a bunch of stuff to clutter my new home and my life… I needed a new start. No more worrying about spending my Saturdays rubbing of dust of stuff that just sits there. No more.

I started this blog about two months ago but yet I haven’t written a lot. Life is
busy. A beautiful family, a job that keeps me running and building a new house are reasons enough for not blogging. However, I am not a quitter. Today though, I have a little something to share. Let me warn you, I am not a natural writer but I will share my thoughts anyway.
I just finished reading The Noticer by Andy Andrews. As I sit in this flight returning home from D.C., I am experiencing a few emotions. The last two books that stirred me like this were El alquimista (The Alchemist) by Paulo Coelho and Purpose Driven Life by Pastor Rick Warren. It’s almost like there are books designed to meet you at different stages of your life. I like to read but with such a busy schedule it’s almost a treat when I can actually do it.
The Noticer is the story about an old man named Jones and his encounters with the residents of Orange Beach, Alabama. These encounters are what I would call divine appointments. Jones meets people who are at the lowest points in their lives. From hopelessness, to failing marriages and lost dreams, the old man takes these opportunities to impart a little bit of perspective in each life encountered. People are never the same. After visiting with Jones, they gain new perspective and move on to living meaningful lives. Continue Reading »
